March Notes and Notables
All the things I loved in March: food, habits, practices, products & more <3
Helloooo! Can not believe we are already here at the end of March! It feels like it’s gone SO fast but I love this lil reminder ⤵️
Welcome back to my monthly roundup featuring all the tools, habits, items, happenings, etc. that I loved throughout the month. I hope to bring you little bits and pieces that you can implement into your life, & learn some health nuggets along the way to better your days.
Onto March’s most notable 😌
1. Homemade Ice Cream
Wow wow wow. I have been seriously missing out because I was blind in knowing how EASY it is to make your own ice cream.
The process is so wholesome, and it feels so good knowing that there’s only 5 simple ingredients needed. Respectfully, DQ could never taste this good.
This just goes to show that we can eat yummy treats often, just make it at home! I guarantee you that once you start dabbling in homemaking your goodies, you will cherish the taste, flavor, and experience way more. You will savor it, because you took the time to learn that new recipe, add your own little touches, & feel like a lil homesteader 🤗
I was intimidated at first, but it’s seriously so simple!
If you have a Kitchen Aid, I highly recommend the ice cream attachment!! Here’s the recipe I’ve been following. I hope you make it <3

2. Taking Care of Something
Whenever I go to Home Depot with my carpenter of a fiance he rewards me with a new house plant 😆
Did you know it’s literally science that it makes you a happier human to be physically taking care of something? Nurturing and caring for plants can provide you with a sense of purpose and accomplishment.
I’m all about the tiny, wholesome ways we can make our life better — and this was one of those things this month.
It’s really in the simple joys.

3. Acupressure
I’ve added acupressure as a new little wellness tool to my mix! I love it because this mat was pretty affordable — and there are a lot of benefits associated such as stress relief, enhanced circulation, pain and muscle tension relief, etc.
A ritual I’ve been implementing is after I wrap up work for the day, I have a little transitional period on my acupressure mat. I’ll throw on a meditation or simply lay there in silence with my eyes closed.
I feel so re-energized after taking ~20 minutes to do this. It eases me into my evening and bookends my work day. Highly recommend this practice to add a little more intention and wellness into casual work days!

4. Pottery
Okay, go find a local pottery studio near you and book a class!! I wholeheartedly believe we need to indulge in creative endeavors often! It’s good for our brain, mental health, and stress levels. And gets us out of our routine — which is essential for health, too.
Humans tend to like to feel in control & that know what they’re doing, but when was the last time you simply did something and didn’t try to become an expert at it? Or simply let your ego go and sat in complete presence to truly learn?
I did this on free Sunday and the time went by so slow, which felt so nourishing and needed. When you are crafting something with your hands, it almost puts you in a meditative trance. You find flow, and feel content.
So, this is your sign to book the thing you’ve been wanting to try. It will spruce up life and you might just find a new creative outlet.

5. Cellular Support
I’ve been diving deep into the topic of cellular health and let me explain why. How your cells function determine a lot about your health.
For example, many people think Type 2 diabetes is merely a blood sugar issue, and in part it is — but it’s only a byproduct of what’s actually happening. The real reason for high blood sugar is that the cell has become unresponsive to insulin — the hormone that shuttles sugar out of the bloodstream. Basically, your cells aren’t absorbing sugar. So, what you really have going on here is cellular dysfunction (most likely caused by diet and lifestyle choices), and as a result, high blood sugar. Eventually, this wreaks more and more havoc on your cells.
How can you support your cells?
In learning about the importance of the cell membrane, I think we have to start there. Our cell membranes are what regulates what goes in and out of the cell and controls nutrient delivery.
This month, I added BodyBio PC (phosphatidylcholine) into my routine. Phosphatidylcholine is what the outer layer of the cell is comprised of, helping the cell rebuild and repair.
I’m not one to rave about supplements, but I genuinely feel like it’s making a difference in my day! Phosphatidylcholine also helps with brain fog, immunity, and has a gentle detox effect.
Other ways to support your cells:
Sunlight
Antioxidants
Healthy fats

6. Friendships That Prioritize Wellness
This is an essential March feature! I flew out my best friend to come visit me in Colorado — where our time was intentionally filled with self care, slowing down, nature, and all things wellness.
The overarching message I want to convey here: find friends that want to indulge in good habits with you. I can’t tell you how refreshing and so very necessary it is.

7. Finding Contentment While In Pursuit of Your Goals
Anyone else prone to getting super down on themselves because you feel like your goals aren’t coming to fruition as soon as you thought they would? Despite feeling like you put in work daily?
Let’s talk about that and do a little reframing.
How cool is it that you get to dream and that you believe in yourself enough to entertain that little voice in your head that’s pushing you to do more? Or that you have a vision so strong, it takes time to nourish and grow it into its full potential?
It can feel discouraging, especially in today’s world, where so much of what you see on Instagram is “how to make 10k months” and “how to escape the 9-5 life” content.
Here’s what I’m learning: we DON’T have to highjack our way to our goals. We can actually take our sweet time and honor small wins along the way.
So, how CAN you find the contentment even through the days you feel like you aren’t moving the needle:
Reflect on these questions:
What do you have that past you once longed for?
What have you learned during this growing journey that you wouldn't have learned or been exposed to otherwise?
Am I confusing patience with failure?
We often don’t recognize that what feels to us like lulls will all be apart of the greater story <3
8. Toe Spacers
Stay with me here. If you want a low effort, cheap + functional habit to add into your routine, this is it.
But why is this even important?
Modern footwear has deformed our feet.
From a lifetime of squeezing our feet into narrow shoes, we’ve compromised the natural wide splay of our toes. This all may sound silly, but we should not sleep on the importance of foot health!
Utilizing toe spacers will help evenly distribute your body weight over the surface of your foot - leading to more stability and balance. They also increase blood flow, and allow all the tiny muscles in your feet to work in our favor.
Everything that’s happening at your feet impacts your entire system upstream!!
9. Holding Space for Others
A very notable happening in March: I started teaching yoga at a local studio here in Fort Collins — the same studio I’ve been practicing at for just under a year now. A true vision board moment coming to fruition. Not only has the studio been impactful for my own self-growth journey, it’s a full circle moment to be on the teaching side in the very same space.
It was one of my goals to start teaching yoga regularly this year, and now that it’s part of my weekly — I’m reminded how special it is to simply hold space for others.
I teach in the wee morning hours at 5:30 am, and something about this time of day feels so sacred. I’m honored that people choose to come do the physical, mental, and spiritual work with me.

10. Solitude Sips
Morning routines do not have to be complex. I learned that the hard way by once upon a time thinking I had to optimize every single minute to feel the most productive, and as a result, I felt scattered trying to literally just enjoy my morning 😅
I think all mornings deserve a moment in stillness. We often forget how nourishing just sitting with our own thoughts can be.
So, find a sun beam and just sip on your morning bev of choice ☀️☕️
THANKS SO MUCH FOR READING! If you made it until the end, drop a comment about one (or many) of your most notable from March.
In health,
Hanna
